AUGUSTA (AP) — Gov. Paul LePage delivers his first State of the State address this week.

Tuesday night’s speech before a joint House-Senate session will be aired statewide. It’ll be LePage’s first State of the State address since he was inaugurated a little over a year ago.

The Republican governor’s address to the state comes amid of a $221 million state budget shortfall and an economy that shows no promise of regaining strength in the immediate future.

Exactly what the theme of his speech will be isn’t clear, but he’s likely to touch on some of his priority issues for the year including energy and education.
