BRUNSWICK

Members of the local chapter of the American Heart Association ( AHA) plan to host a fundraising Heart Ball on Feb. 16. The event, which will run from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. at the Inn at Brunswick Station, supports the American Heart Association and offers a post-Valentine’s Day treat for residents of the Mid-coast region.

“It’s really a perfect gift,” said Tory Ryden, marketing director at Parkview Adventist Medical Center, and member of the AHA group. “Fine dining coupled with a great dance band and incredible dine and stay raffle prizes. Plus the money raised goes to an amazing cause!”

The Inn at Brunswick Station will provide its ballroom and food for the event. The Montgomery Road band will provide entertainment.

“We are excited to be playing host of this inaugural event,” J. Hilary Rockett, owner of the inn, said in a release about the Heart Ball.

Proceeds will benefit the AHA of Maine.

“ We hope the Heart Ball will become our premier community event in Brunswick,” said Brenda V, American Heart Association of Maine. “ Heart disease and stroke affects so many families in this area. Plus what better way to get the heart pumping than a night of dancing?”

Local businesses — including the Black Lantern Bed and Breakfast in Topsham, The Great Impasta in Brunswick and the Inn at Brunswick Station — will provide raffle prizes.

Tickets cost $40 per person or $75 per couple and can be purchased online at www.heartballbrunswick.eve ntbrite.com.
