CLEAR SPRING, Md. (AP) — Emergency crews have rescued a man who spent hours trapped deep inside a cave in Maryland.

Officials say the man got stuck between some rocks about 200 feet down into the cave in Clear Spring about 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Rescue crews from Washington, Frederick and Montgomery counties worked to free the man, bringing him out of the cave about 10:15 p.m.

The man was not believed to have been badly injured and was taken to Shock Trauma in Baltimore for treatment.

Mike Reid, chief of Clear Spring Volunteer Fire Company, says the man had been caving with others at the time of the incident.
