TUSCON, AZ — William Neill McKellar “Bill”, 79 formerly of Bath, passed away after a short illness on January 18 , 2012 at his home in Tucson Arizona, with his family by his side. He was Born the son of David and Margaret Mckellar in Bath Maine on August 21, 1932, He was educated in the Bath Schools and graduated from Morse High School in 1950. He married his wife Betty April 18, 1953, and they settled in Bath for many years before moving to Sebago Lake and later splitting their time between Georgetown and Tuscon Arizona.

His first job was with A&P Grocery store and later was a Foreman of mail carriers for the Bath Post office. In 1974 until his retirement in 1989 he held the position as Postmaster for the Kezar Falls Post office.

Bill enjoyed camping with his family every summer and later traveling with his wife Betty each winter to Tucson. After Betty passed away in 2007 Bill decided to stay in Arizona where he enjoyed the warm weather and the company of his new friends he met through his winter visits. Bill was an avid sports fan who enjoyed seeing his favorite New England teams win national Championships. He was remembered for his sense of humor, quick wit and his ability to convert most into becoming New England sport fans.

He was preceded in death by three brothers David, George and Donald Mckellar and is survived by his six children: William A. McKellar and his wife Linda of Bath Maine, Melinda McKellar Tolbert of Tucson Arizona, Margaret McKellar Mackel and her husband Lawrence of Tucson Arizona, Gregory N. McKellar and his wife Lynn of Saco Maine, Diane McKellar of Tucson Arizona, Phyllis McKellar Rowell and her husband Clinton of Owensboro Kentucky. He was the proud grandfather of Todd, Amy, Melinda, Travis, Mark, Christie, Jeffrey, Johnny (Jay), Ashlee, Adam, Elizabeth, Cameron and Connor, and twelve (12) great-grandchildren.

The family had a Celebration of Life service with family and friends in Tuscon on January 19th. At the family’s request there will be a memorial service for family and friends to be held in Maine, Date and Location to be set by the family at a later date.
