FREEPORT — Freeport Family Performing Arts will hold auditions for its production of “Pinocchio” from noon to 4 p.m. Feb. 12 and from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Freeport Performing Arts Center, 30 Holbrook St.

Tim Ryan will direct the play, which is based on the 1883 children’s book, “The Adventures of Pinocchio,” by Carlo Collodi.

Auditions are open to performers from age 7 through adults. Those who audition should be prepared to read from the script. Everyone who auditions will be offered a role.

“Entire families are encouraged to audition and participate,” a Freeport Family Performing Arts release states. Show dates are April 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22.

Freeport Family Performing Arts is a new nonprofit group initially funded in part by a grant from the L.L. Bean Aspirations Grant. “The group is dedicated to bringing the performing arts to Freeport and its surrounding communities by offering everyone who wishes to participate in a production in a professional setting an opportunity to do so,” the release states.
