YORK — A York man was taken to the hospital for evaluation after a three-hour standoff with police this morning.
Police were called to a home on Peter Weare Road at 12:42 a.m. for a report of a 23-year-old suicidal man who had barricaded himself in the basement with a loaded gun.
Two other people who were home at the time were evacuated from the house and a police negotiator and family members were able to convince the man to come out peacefully, according to a press release. The release did not identify the man.
