RUMFORD – The No. 10-ranked Gray-New Gloucester girls basketball team kept its season alive on Wednesday night, going to Rumford and pulling off a 58-50 upset of seventh-seeded Mountain Valley in a Class B West prelim game.

The win moves the Patriots into the quarterfinal round where they will square off against No. 2 York on Feb. 21 at 3:30 p.m. in the Portland Expo.

The Patriots went on a 17-9 run to open the game, and despite being outscored 11-10 in the second quarter, held a 27-20 lead at the half.
