BRUNSWICK — A 43-year-old Brunswick woman was taken to Maine Medical Center for evaluation Thursday afternoon — and may face criminal charges — following a car crash on James Street.

Karen Frost, 43, of 12 Shea St., was treated and discharged from Maine Medical Center Thursday, according to a hospital spokeswoman.

Police and Brunswick rescue workers responded just after 4:30 p.m. Thursday to the intersection of James and Short streets, in Maplewood Manor mobile home park off Old Bath Road, where Frost’s car had struck a speed limit sign before coming to rest on a utility pole, Deputy Chief Marc Hagan of the Brunswick Police Department said today.

Witnesses reported that Frost had been driving erratically prior to the crash.

Frost was taken to Maine Medical Center for evaluation of non-life-threatening injuries, Hagan said.

Police await the results of blood alcohol tests and charges are pending.
