SCARBOROUGH — A Scarborough teenager and his mother are asking for the return of his stolen wheelchair, no questions asked.

Chris Fitzgerald relies on the wheelchair to travel the quarter-mile from the school bus stop to his home every day because he can’t walk that far.

His mom sometimes leaves it at the end of the neighbor’s driveway near the bus stop on days when she works late.

Last week when Chris got off the bus, it wasn’t there. They think it was stolen.

His mom says her “jaw dropped.”

Chris tells WCSH-TV he’s baffled because the wheelchair was custom built for him so it’s useless for anyone else.

Anyone with information on the wheelchair is asked to call Scarborough police: 730-4300
