AUGUSTA ( AP) — An Augusta man who held his girlfriend against her will in their city apartment for several days, beating her and burning her with cigarettes, has been sentenced to 10 years in prison.
Robert Allan Horr was sentenced Wednesday after pleading guilty to kidnapping and aggravated assault. Charges of domestic violence terrorizing and criminal restraint were dismissed.
Prosecutors say the 51-yearold Horr kept the 58-year-old woman in the apartment from July 31 to Aug 2. She escaped to a neighbor’s home while Horr was asleep. The victim was treated at a hospital for injuries including a broken wrist and cigarette burns.
The Kennebec Journal reports that the prosecutor called it one of the worst cases of domestic violence he has seen.
Horr said he was drinking and didn’t remember anything.
