AUGUSTA — The Natural Resources Council of Maine is marking Earth Day with an event to show its newly installed solar energy system.
The environmental advocacy organization plans an 11 a.m. event Friday at its 3 Wade St. headquarters near the Capitol in Augusta.
The council partnered with ReVision Energy to install solar panels. ReVision will explain the unique partnership, cost savings for nonprofits, the advantage of that type of a partnership, and environmental benefits of using solar energy.
The Natural Resources Council also says it’s on the steering committee for a new coalition, which includes more than 30 organizations from around the country that will push for strategies that lead to less waste.
