EXETER, N.H. — A special beer is being brewed in honor of a New Hampshire museum dedicated to the Revolutionary War era.

The Redhook Brewery is making the American Independence Ale as part its regional “Brewery Backyard Series” for the American Independence Museum in Exeter. Some sales proceeds will benefit the museum.

The museum will launch the beer in May at its restored Folsom Tavern, which was the center of Exeter’s political scene during the Revolution. It’s been over 100 years since beer was served there.

The Portsmouth Herald reports (http://bit.ly/I6wl09) the beer will be available in New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts and Maine this summer through early fall, starting Memorial Day weekend.
