SOUTH PORTLAND – Jack Sutton scored his third goal of the game with 4:01 remaining Saturday to give Cheverus a 5-4 victory against South Portland in a schoolboy lacrosse game.

Kameron Andrews, who scored twice for the Red Riots (1-2), made it 4-4 with 7:21 to play.

Cody O’Brien and Brent Green also scored, and Colm Pusey made 10 saves for the Stags (2-1).

Alex Neal and Mike Salvatore had South Portland’s other goals.

MARSHWOOD 12, GORHAM 5: Matt Scremin had three goals and two assists, and Austin Hale added three goals and one assist to lead the Hawks (3-0) over the Rams (1-2) at Gorham.

Drew Hale added two goals, and Jeff Graunke had a goal and two assists for Marshwood.

KENNEBUNK 14, WEST-BROOK 3: Harrison Hall had three goals and three assists to lead the Rams (3-0) past the Blue Blazes (0-2) at Kennebunk.

Clayton Spang added two goals and two assists, Pat Rimmer and Nick Ames each had two goals and one assist, and John Grillo also scored twice for Kennebunk.

THORNTON ACADEMY 15, NOBLE 0: Greg Lodge had four goals and an assist to lead the Golden Trojans (2-1) to a victory against the Knights (0-2) at Saco.

Parker Roma added three goals, and Josh Cyr had a goal and three assists. Brett Levasseur and Chris Camire combined for six saves for the shutout.

YARMOUTH 11, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 9: Bart Gallagher broke a 6-6 tie early in the fourth quarter, and the Clippers (1-0) went on to outscore visiting North Yarmouth Academy (1-1) 5-3 in the period for a victory at Yarmouth.

Gallagher, Anders Overhaug, Max Watson and Ethan Cyrall each scored two goals for Yarmouth.

Jacob Scammon scored five for the Panthers.

BONNY EAGLE 11, WINDHAM 1: Nate Hopkins scored three goals to help the Scots (2-1) down the Eagles (0-1) at Windham.

Ryan Cannell and Derek Driscoll each added two goals for Bonny Eagle. Regan McCarthy scored and Sam Blauvelt made 22 saves for Windham.

SOFTBALL

MASSABESIC 7, CHEVERUS 3: The Mustangs (2-0) scored three runs in the fourth inning to take a 4-2 lead and held off the Stags (0-2) at Portland.

Kassidy Hill and Emily Shatz collected RBI for the Mustangs.

Francesca Pasquali drove in all three runs for Cheverus.

SOUTH PORTLAND 6, BONNY EAGLE 1: Erin Bogdanovich pitched a two-hitter with 12 strikeouts and added a home run to lead the Red Riots in an opener at South Portland.

The Riots broke a scoreless tie with a three-run second inning.

Sam DiBiase tripled home a run and also scored in the rally.

KENNEBUNK 15, MCAULEY 0: Carinn Burns had a double, a home run and four RBI to lead the Rams in an opener at Kennebunk.

Brittany Madore added two hits, including a two-run double. Hannah King and Burns combined on a two-hitter.

NOBLE 14, WESTBROOK 11: Deven Goss’ two-run homer helped Noble (1-0) to a 3-0 first-inning lead against the Blue Blazes (1-1) at Westbrook.

The Knights increased the lead to 8-3 before a six-run fifth, highlighted by Nicole Lanoie, Tori Cormier and Melodie Bailey scoring on the same error.

Westbrook pulled within three with an eight-run fifth, when Katie Clark ripped a three-run triple and scored on Haley Berry’s triple.

SANFORD 2, WINDHAM 1: Heather LeBlanc’s two-run first-inning homer held up as the Redskins (2-0) edged the Eagles (0-1) at Windham.

Samantha Adams scored ahead of LeBlanc on the shot over the left-field fence.

Windham countered with a run in the bottom of the first inning on Katelyn Tucker’s double and Logan Genest’s single.

Faith Crosby went the first five innings for the Redskins, striking out seven.
