Benjamin Ginsberg, second from left, is Mitt Romney’s top lawyer. Ginsberg was sent to Maine to deal with an assortment of legal issues stemming from convention takeover by the Ron Paul campaign.

Paul has captured at least three delegates to send to the national convention in Tampa, Fla. Fifteen at-large delegates have unofficially gone to Paul as well.

The Romney camp is challenging the legitimacy of voting process saying the at-large election took place behind closed doors and that ballots were compromised.

The Paul campaign has said it’s unconcerned about the legal challenge and that’s prepared to deploy it’s own legal team.

The outcome could soon be decided by the Republican National Committee.

Ginsberg is considered one of the top election lawyers in the country. He represented President George W Bush during the 2000 recount with Democratic candidate Al Gore.

2:24 p.m. – Romney supporters are still continuing to challenge the election process.

Maine GOP Chairman Charlie Webster also just reminded the convention that the party has only leased the Augusta Civic Center until 6 p.m.

A Paul supporter said that the convention should be moved into the parking lot if the business is not completed on time.
