OWLS HEAD — Teams of high school and middle school students will demonstrate their work with robotics and wind-blade design for hundreds of manufacturers.

The teams from South Portland, Farmington, Falmouth, Jay and Livermore Falls area will showcase their skills at the Manufacturers Association of Maine summit, which is being held today and Thursday at the Owls Head Transportation Museum.

The Manufacturers Association of Maine represents more than 400 members including industry, associate and affiliate members and students. Organizers say 200 people are signed up to attend.

The summit’s theme is the future of manufacturing in Maine and strengthening relationships between students and prospective employers.

A survey identifies 960 Maine jobs currently unfilled due to a lack of skilled employees.
