The NCAA Division III softball regionals, America East softball tournament and Little East baseball tournament all revised their schedules today in the wake of rain.

The opening day of the Division III softball regional at Amherst, Mass., started five hours later than planned, reducing the day’s schedule from four games to two or three, depending on how much play can be completed before darkness. Fifth-seeded St. Joseph’s (33-7) is now scheduled to face No. 4 Keene State (25-10-1) at 5 p.m., possibly followed by No. 6 Husson (33-11) vs. No. 3 Amherst (34-4). The University of New England (26-12), seeded seventh, won’t play until Friday against second-seeded SUNY Plattsburgh (31-9).

The first day of the America East softball tournament in Boston was postponed, so fourth-seeded Maine (17-28-1) is now scheduled to face top-seeded Boston University (37-14) at 11 a.m. Friday.

At the Little East baseball tournament in Gorham, Southern Maine’s (23-17) elimination game against UMass-Boston (18-21-1) was pushed back from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by a game between Rhode Island College (25-16) and Plymouth State (18-20).
