LIMESTONE — A Maine company that refurbishes Humvees for the Army and National Guard is looking to supplement that work with contracts from the Israeli military.

Sen. Susan Collins says Israeli Defense Force officials will visit the Maine Military Authority in Limestone at her request today.

The Maine Military Authority is one of several organizations competing for an Israeli Defense contract to provide Humvees during the next three years.

Created in 1997, the Maine Military Authority has refurbished more than 14,000 Humvees at the former Loring Air Force Base in Limestone.
