Defending state champion Patrick Ordway of Waynflete and runner-up Maisie Silverman of Brunswick are the top seeds in the 2012 MPA singles tennis tournament.

Regional qualifying last weekend whittled the field to 48 boys and 48 girls. Play resumes the morning of May 25 at Colby College in Waterville with quarterfinals scheduled for May 26.

Semis and finals will be held Memorial Day, May 28, also in Waterville.

The top 12 seeds for boys: 1. Patrick Ordway, Waynflete; 2. Justin Brogan, Falmouth; 3. Matt Gilman, Cape Elizabeth; 4. Tyler Adams, 5. Jordan Friedland, Lincoln Academy; 6. Tyler Small, Ellsworth; 7. Jordan Doutreluigne, Oceanside; 8. Brendan McCarthy, Falmouth; 9. Satchel McCarthy, Cape Elizabeth; 10. Jesse Butler, Deering; 11. Sam Leeman, Morse; 12. Patrick Stewart, Bangor.

For girls, Emily Campbell of York and Emma Blakely of Camden Hills share the 12th seed. The other 10 after Silverman: 2. Annie Criscione, Falmouth; 3. Analise Kump, Falmouth; 4. Mea Clark, MDI; 5.
