CONCORD, N.C. — Brad Keselowski won the NASCAR Nationwide Series event at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Saturday, leading the final 67 laps to give Penske Racing a winning start on auto racing’s biggest weekend.

Keselowski raced to his first Nationwide victory of the year. He’ll try to double up in Sprint Cup’s longest race of the season, the Coca-Cola 600 tonight.

OXFORD PLAINS: T.J. Brackett defeated Travis Stearns in the Oxford Networks Late Model Division on the opening night of Oxford Plains Speedway’s Championship Series.

Other winners were Matt Williams in the Strictly Stock Division, Rob Greenleaf in the Mini Stock Division and Pat Maloy and Guy Childs in the two Outlaw divisions.

BEECH RIDGE: Bradley Babb of Windham won the feature race on the opening night of the Beech Ridge Motor Speedway NASCAR Pro Series, beating Bill Rodgers of Old Orchard Beach and Don Colpritt of Scarborough.

Reggie Leeman of Windham took the 35-lap Sport Series event, Dan Wink of Berwick won the 30-lap Wildcat event and Dave Cameron of Alfred won the Road Runner race.

FORMULA ONE: Michael Schumacher posted the fastest time in an action-packed qualifying session at the Monaco Grand Prix, but his previous grid penalty meant Mark Webber’s Red Bull will start today’s race in pole position.
