PORTLAND — Portland Sea Dogs starter Chris Hernandez allowed only three runs, but it was plenty for the New Britain Rock Cats. New Britain used four pitchers to shutout the Sea Dogs 3-0 Monday afternoon, before 5,667 at Hadlock Field.

New Britain first baseman Chris Colabello of Milford, Mass. hit a two-run homer to cap a three-run third inning.

Hernandez, otherwise, was effective. He left after six innings, having allowed six hits and three walks, while striking out two.

Portland reliever Brock Huntzinger pitched three no-hit innings.

But the Sea Dogs offense could not get a run. They also had six hits, but left eight on base.

The Sea Dogs were scheduled to leave after the game for Harrisburg, Penn., where they will play the Senators Tuesday night.

The team returns to Hadlock Field on June 5.
