MANCHESTER, N.H. — A New Hampshire veterinary clinic is asking for help from the public in recovering a statue of a bulldog that was stolen from the roof of the company car in Manchester.

Veterinarian Deborah Kelloway of the Advanced Veterinary Clinic says she noticed Monday morning that the statue she called Marilyn had been unbolted from its perch.

She tells WMUR-TV the dog was painted about a year ago by a local artist. It is a way of making people smile when they are dealing with an emotional situation.

Kelloway calls the situation sad. She says all they want is to the statue back, with no questions asked.

Manchester police said they are aware of the crime, but finding the statue will be hard.
