HAMPDEN — Police say a Winterport man is dead after his motorcycle collided with a tractor-trailer in Hampden.
Authorities say 47-year-old Malcolm Lane was driving north on Monroe Road at 2:40 p.m. Tuesday when his Harley Davidson apparently crossed the center line and struck the oncoming truck head on.
Lane was pronounced dead at the scene.
The truck driver was not injured. His boss told the Bangor Daily News that he is an experienced driver with a clean driving record.
The investigation continues and no charges have been filed.
