HAMPTON, N.H. — Police in New Hampshire have arrested a man from Maine following a high-speed chase.

Hampton police said they got a call about 6 p.m. Sunday from a woman who said her car had been stolen. Shortly afterward, it was spotted by an officer on Route 1. The driver did not stop for police.

WMUR-TV reports police said the car crossed into North Hampton, where spike strips were set up to slow it down. The driver eventually stopped by the North Hampton School and fled into the woods, where he was arrested.

Police said 47-year-old Roy Hebert Goding of Lewiston, Maine, was being arraigned today.
