WALDOBORO (AP) — Police have identified the victim of a Friday car crash on Route 1 in Waldoboro as a 70- year-old Portland woman.

Police say Lois Sparks was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident near the intersection with Route 235.

Chief Bill Labombarde says three other people were injured. He says 67-year-old Marie Tysinger of Waldoboro, was traveling south at about 11 a.m. Friday when her SUV drifted into the northbound lane and collided head-on with a pickup truck driven by 45-year-old Murray Sparks of Portland. Lois Sparks, a passenger, is his mother.
