PROSPECT, Maine — A Bucksport first grader has been airlifted to the hospital after falling 15 feet at Maine’s Fort Knox Historic Site in Prospect while on a school field trip.

Bucksport school officials tell the Bangor Daily News that the 7-year-old was conscious after he fell, but suffered fractures to both his arms and trauma to his knee and face. He also lost some teeth.

The boy was on a school field trip with his class from G.H. Jewett School.

Fort Knox is Maine’s largest historic fort. According to the Daily News, the child was rolling down an unspecified hill and went over an embankment.
