LEWISTON — Dozens of newcomers to Maine have been sworn in as U.S. citizens.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services held today’s special Flag Day naturalization ceremony at Lewiston Middle School. Fifty-two people from 23 countries were part of the event.

Those being sworn live in towns across southern and central Maine in come from countries ranging from Argentina, Bulgaria and China to Iraq, Poland and Somalia.
