PORTLAND

Procter & Gamble, through The P&G Fund of The Greater Cincinnati Foundation, recently awarded a $10,000 grant to The Susan L. Curtis Charitable Foundation.

The funds will be used to sponsor ten disadvantaged Auburn-area children for Camp Susan Curtis.

The Woods at Canco independent senior living community recently donated $1,763.59 to the Outward Bound for Veterans program, a non-profit that helps returning service members and recent veterans readjust to life at home by providing challenging wilderness trips, which encourage healing and help rebuild confidence.

Maine Community Foundation awarded a $5,500 grant to support the Community Financial Literacy’s general operating budget and train the trainer project.

To date, the CFL focus has been on classes and workshops about savings, money management and understanding and analyzing credit reports.

The St George River Council Board of REALTORS awarded $1,380 to the Rockland Fuel Assistance Program.

SCARBOROUGH

The 14th Annual Hannaford Charity Auction raised $50,000 for Hospice of Southern Maine.

The auction was held last November at the Marriott Sable Oaks in South Portland.

The Gosnell Memorial Hospice House is the only hospice facility in southern Maine and was designed to meet the unique needs of patients in need of more specialized end-of-life care.

Maine-area Lowe’s stores and their customers raised $42,471 in Shamrocks Against Dystrophy donations.

The funds raised by the Maine-area Lowe’s stores help local individuals and families affected by muscular dystrophy and related diseases.

Nationwide, the retailer collected more than $7.6 million to support the Muscular Dystrophy Association’s (MDA) research and services programs.
