PORTLAND — A New York man was sentenced today in federal court to 15 months imprisonment for credit card fraud.

Mark Daniel, 24, of Brooklyn, was also sentenced to three years of supervised release and ordered to pay more than $101,000 in restitution. Daniel had pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit credit card fraud.

Daniel, along with two others, were accused of traveling last year from New York to Maine and New Hampshire, where they used counterfeit American Express cards at Walmart stores. One of the stores was in Biddeford.

A second defendant, Kenny Deras, faces the same charge. Deras, of Bronx, N.Y., has a pretrial conference scheduled for July 24.
