FALMOUTH — Westbound traffic on the Falmouth turnpike spur faced lengthy delays after a recreational vehicle broke down in a construction zone this morning.

The large vehicle broke down in a stretch of the connector where a lane closure is already in place, between the toll plaza and the interchanges for the Maine Turnpike.

Traffic was stopped at 9:38 a.m. when the incident occurred and after the vehicle was moved to the side, cars were allowed to pass. However, the vehicle was turned around at 10:20 a.m. to be taken off the spur and traffic was again stopped, though the delays did not last long, according to the turnpike authority.
