CASCO — A fire that started on the second floor of a single family home tonight displaced the family and caused heavy damage to the structure.
Deputy Fire Chief Scott Avery said the cause of the fire at 53 Tenney Hill Road in Casco remains under investigation by the state Fire Marshal’s Office.
Heavy smoke was pouring out of the second floor bedroom area when firefighters arrived just after 6 p.m., according to Avery. The seven people, including a couple of guests, who were inside the home at the time, all made it out safely.
The family will be able to live with relatives in the area because the home is unliveable.
Tenney Hill Road had to be shut down for two hours while crews battled the fire. Several departments, including Casco, Bridgton, Naples, Raymond and Otisfield, responded.
