DOVER, N.H. — The sale price of an 11-generation family farm in New Hampshire has dropped after about two years on the market.

The 135-acre Tuttle Farm in Dover was originally offered at $3.35 million during the summer of 2010. A difficult market and a reworking of what the sale will include have lowered the price to $1.87 million.

Foster’s Daily Democrat reports the price includes the sale of the farmland and the barn. It no longer includes the sale of the Tuttle’s family home just south of the farm.

Members of the family have owned the property since its establishment in 1632, making it one of America’s oldest family-owned farms.

A local school is interested in promoting farming through hands-on courses, and there’s talk of turning the greenhouse into a restaurant.
