LIMESTONE (AP) — An emergency federal grant will help to continue to provide employment assistance to about 75 workers affected by layoffs at a Maine Military Authority in Limestone.

The company refurbishes Humvees for the Army and National Guard.

On Monday, the U.S. Department of Labor announced the $100,000 National Emergency Grant. The money is in addition to the intial grant of $463,000 awarded to the Maine Labor Department in May.

Assistant Secretary of Labor for Employment and Training Jane Oates says the additional funding will enable the workers to continue to receive services that equip them to find new jobs.
