BROWNVILLE — Gov. Paul LePage is visiting the central Maine town of Brownville to assess damages from weekend flooding that washed out roads, damaged railroad tracks and was blamed for a motorist’s death.

LePage and administration officials are scheduled to meet with the Brownville mayor and county emergency management personnel today and view the damage firsthand.

The National Weather Service says more flooding is possible with heavy rains.

The weather service issued a flood warning for Monday afternoon into this afternoon for Brownville and the surrounding area.

Rainfall rates weren’t expected to be as intense as Saturday, but the weather service was forecasting 2 to 4 inches to fall, making the area vulnerable to more flooding.
