MEN’S LACROSSE: Charlie Burch, an assistant coach at the University of New England for four seasons, has been promoted to head coach.
Burch succeeds Jon Hunt, who resigned earlier this month to become the lacrosse coach at Bridgton Academy.
Burch compiled a record of 289-102-1 as a high school coach at Cape Elizabeth and Kennebunk. He guided Cape Elizabeth to eight consecutive state championships from 1990-97 before the sport was sanctioned by the Maine Principals’ Association.
