YORK – Police said they are investigating the shooting of a 20-year-old man on Western Point Road this afternoon.

Police are releasing few details, including the victim’s name.

According to police, they were called to a house on Western Point Road at about 1:30 p.m., and the caller said a 20-year-old had a gunshot wound to the chest.

Police said the man was conscious when they arrived, but they didn’t have an opportunity to interview him about what happened.

The man was taken by ambulance to York Hospital and later transferred by helicopter to Massachusetts General Hospital.

York Police said the incident is under investigation.
