LITCHFIELD, N.H. — Authorities say a 35-year-old man has been shot and killed by a police officer during a confrontation.

Officers were called to a Litchfield home Monday afternoon after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. Police say when officers arrived about 2 p.m., they found an armed man on the front porch, later identified as Jason Lagueux. A confrontation ensued at the Page Road home and Lagueux was shot.

Lagueux was treated at the scene and then taken to a hospital, where he died.

An autopsy has been scheduled for today.

The Attorney General’s Office is investigating the shooting. No officers were injured.
