SANFORD — An airport official say a plane was damaged but no one was injured when a student pilot made a rough landing at the Sanford Seacoast Regional Airport in Maine.

The airport manager says the out-of-state student pilot was on a solo flight on Friday when the pilot had a rough landing, shearing off the nose wheel. The plane was resting on its nose on Friday.

One runway was closed until the aircraft was removed. The Federal Aviation Administration plans to investigate.
