SOUTH PORTLAND — Motorists in South Portland are being cautioned to expect delays at Broadway and Evans street as utility workers repair a leaking gas valve.

South Portland police are directing traffic in the area and say that the work is expected to last until after 4 p.m. this afternoon.

The leak was reported at 8 a.m. and the utility, Unitil, will be working in the roadway to repair the leak. There are no safety concerns and no evacuations were necessary, said Lt. Frank Clark.
