AUGUSTA  — Secretary of State Charlie Summers will hold a drawing to determine the order of the four bond questions on Maine’s Nov. 6, general election ballot.

Maine law requires a drawing process for ballot position. But it also says people’s veto questions must go first, followed by citizen initiatives. That means the same-sex marriage initiative will be Question 1 on the ballot.

Today’s drawing will determine the order of the four bond questions that will follow.

They include $7.9 million for revolving loan funds for drinking water systems and wastewater treatment facilities, $5 million to purchase land and conservation easements, $51.5 million for improvements to highways, bridges and other transportation facilities, and $11.3 million for Maine’s university and college systems.
