Marcus Mumford said he and the band are thrilled to be spending the entire weekend in Portland and yes, they have every intention of eating lobster.

Despite the long wait outside and the heat even inside the store, fans were respectful and showed true appreciation to the band.

Mumford & Sons closed out their four-song set with a “Awake My Soul” from the “Sigh No More” album and several fans quietly sang along.

As fans left the store they were presented with special Mumford & Sons collectible posters.

UPDATE: 1:34 p.m.

Fans of British folk rock band poured into Bull Moose in Scarborough at 1:15 for a ticket-only in-store performance on Friday.

The band started their set at 1:20 and played “I Will Wait,” a new song from their forthcoming album “Babel.”

Marcus Mumford is lead singer and plays guitar, Ted Dwane is on upright bass, Winston Marshall is on Banjo and Ben Lovett’s playing keys and accordion.

The slow and poignant love song ‘”Ghosts that We Knew” was another new one the band. “I will hold with all of my might, just promise me that we’ll be alright'” sang Mumford with backing harmonies from Winston and Lovett.

UPDATE: 1:15 p.m.

Fans have moved inside the Scarborough Bull Moose, waiting for the Mumford & Sons performance to begin. The performance was scheduled for 1 p.m. but has not started yet.

12:35 p.m.

SCARBOROUGH – Braving midday summer heat, the lucky fans who were able to buy passes for the private performance of Mumford & Sons at the Bull Moose Scarborough location were lined up in force on Friday.

Staff from Bull Moose eased their pain by distributing free candy, popsicles and bottled water.

The band is due to take the make-shift stage at 1 p.m.

Mumford & Sons headline the sold-out Gentlemen of the Road festival taking place on Saturday on Portland’s eastern promenade.
