ROCHESTER, N.H. — Police said a New Hampshire man with a holstered toy gun on his hip was escorted away before President Barack Obama’s campaign event in Rochester.

Police received a call about someone with a gun 10 minutes before the president’s arrival and the man was quickly located Saturday.

Sgt. Michael Miehle said Sunday that it was a toy gun that fires plastic BBs and that it had an orange barrel to differentiate it from a real gun.

Miehle said the man told police he was out for a cup of coffee, and there was a coffee shop a block from where the president spoke.

Miehle said police drove the man home where he remained until the president’s event was over. He says the man’s identity isn’t being disclosed because there was no crime.
