About 3,000 Central Maine Power Co. customer accounts are without power in the Rockport-Camden area Monday morning.

An insulator failed at about 9 a.m. in a wooded right of way near the Camden substation, affecting one circuit, a CMP spokeswoman said. Because the pole serves two circuits, the utility had to shut them both down so the pole was safe to work on.

CMP expects to have the power back by lunchtime.
