HAMPTON, N.H. — A Maine woman is one of the big winners in the annual Hampton Beach Talent Competition with her rendition of the Whitney Houston song, “I Have Nothing.”

Shayleen Letellier from Arundel, Maine, won the senior division category. She won $500 for her performance Sunday, the conclusion of the three-day competition.

In the junior division, first place went to 14-year-old Caroline Carter from Dover. She sang “Defying Gravity” from the musical “Wicked.”

Contestants sang on the new Seashell Stage at the beach. They were judged not only on their vocal ability, but also on their stage presence and entertainment value.
