SOUTH PORTLAND – A water main has broken at the corner of Broadway and Ocean Street, the Portland Water District said.
The main broke about 6:30 p.m., cutting off water service to about 10 houses on Derby Street, said Walter Meuse, a dispatcher for the utility.
He said the cause of the break hasn’t been determined, but the water district expects it to be repaired and service restored by 2 a.m.
