LEBANON — A fire that swept through a home on Oak Hill Road in Lebanon Tuesday afternoon left a family of five homeless.

Fire Chief Skip Wood said the fire was “going pretty good” by the time crews arrived, around 4 p.m.

The family, which includes a husband, wife, and their three children, had left a few minutes prior to the fire to run an errand, Wood said.

Wood said the fire destroyed about half the home, making it unliveable. The American Red Cross responded and was trying to find a place for the family to stay Tuesday night.

Wood said the fire does not appear to be suspicious but it does remain under investigation by the State Fire Marshall’s Office.
