CAPE ELIZABETH — Taylor Simpson slammed home a shot from the top of the circle Tuesday night and York went on to a 1-0 victory against Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game.

Amanda Kasbohm of the Wildcats (2-1) and Julianne Ayers of Cape Elizabeth (1-2) each blocked two shots.

BELFAST 10, LINCOLN ACADEMY 0: Madison Cummings tied a school record with four goals to lead the Lions (2-0) at Belfast.

Cummings scored her third and fourth goals one minute apart with 15 minutes left, then sat out the rest of the game. The four-goal mark was first reached by Laurie Vose in 1979, then tied by Susan Read Woods in the 1980’s.

Lexi Nelligan added three goals for Lions, who led 5-0 at halftime.

Julia Ward needed two stops for the shutout. Andrea Call made 10 saves for Lincoln.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 3, GREELY 1: Skye Dole had a goal and an assist as the Raiders (3-0) beat the Rangers (0-2) at Cumberland.

Kylie Locke gave Fryeburg a 1-0 halftime lead with an unassisted goal. Ellen Bacchiocchi also scored for the Raiders.

Cassie Demick scored for Greely from Jessica Wilson.

LAKE REGION 3, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Lucy Fowler scored twice as the Lakers (2-0) beat Gray-New Gloucester (0-2) at Naples.

Kayleigh LePage also scored. Meghan VanLoan made four saves for the shutout.

NOKOMIS 3, MT. VIEW 1: Drew Graves had a goal and two assists to lead the Warriors (1-1) over the Mustangs (1-1) at Newport.

Taylor Lovely and Mikayla Braley also scored for Nokomis.

Braley Leadbetter answered for Mt. View.

OCEANSIDE 1, WATERVILLE 0: Hannah Plourde scored with 5:42 left in the second overtime to lift the Mariners (2-0) past the Purple Panthers (1-1) at Waterville.

Plourde scored on a breakaway, making a move to get past a defender before putting a shot in the corner of the cage.

CAMDEN HILLS 1, ERSKINE ACADEMY 0: The Windjammers (1-1) made one goal stand up beat the Eagles (0-2) at Rockport.

DEERING 4, WESTBROOK 0: Alexis Elowitch and Simone Lauture each had a goal and assist to help the Rams (2-0) defeat the Blue Blazes (0-2) at Portland.

Edie Pallozzi and Cole Spike added goals.

BRUNSWICK 5, ERSKINE ACADEMY 0: Rachel Moroney had three goals to lead the Dragons (2-0) over the Eagles (1-1) at South China.

Kassidy Scarponi chipped in a goal and an assist. Paige Tutu added a score and Anna Cowen had a pair of assists.

Haley Murano had six saves for the shutout.

Courtney Bonsent made 12 saves for Erskine.

CAPE ELIZABETH 4, FRYEBURG ACADEMY 0: Kathryn Clark had two goals, and Sydney Wight added a goal and an assist to lead the Capers (1-1) over the Raiders (0-1) at Fryeburg.

Addison Wood also scored, Tally Perkins had two assists and Mary Perkins stopped three shots.

Ellie Burbank made eight saves for Fryeburg.

GREELY 3, FREEPORT 1: Julia and Jocelyn Mitiguy each scored as the Rangers won an opener at Cumberland.

Allie Morrill tacked on a goal and Leah Young had two assists for Greely.

LAKE REGION 2, YARMOUTH 1: Cece Hancock scored both goals for Lake Region (1-0) against Yarmouth (1-1) at Naples.

Sara Myers scored for the Clippers in the first half from Lily Watson.

FALMOUTH 5, NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 0: The Yachtsmen (2-0 had five players score against the Panthers (0-2) at Yarmouth.

Mary Catherine Kowalsky and Tyler Spence scored in the first half. Caitlin Bucksbaum, Julia Spugnardi and Cassie Darrow added second-half scores.

MT. ARARAT 4, OXFORD HILLS 0: Celia Ouellette scored two goals to lead Mt. Ararat (2-0) over Oxford Hills (0-2) at South Paris.

YORK 1, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 0: Kayla Swasey took a cross from Alexa Bando and floated in a 20-yard shot with 4:36 left in the first half as the Wildcats won an opener at York.

Maddie Patten of York had five saves. Sam Wilkins finished with 13 for Gray-New Gloucester.

GORHAM 3, CAPE ELIZABETH 0: Lyndsay Chapman had seven kills and eight digs to lead Gorham (2-0) over the Capers (0-2) at Cape Elizabeth, 25-20, 25-17 and 25-11.

Kaitlyn Seeheusen added three kills, nine assists and seven digs.
