SOUTH PORTLAND — Hundreds of cyclists are taking part in a series of bike rides to benefit the organization that oversees the development of a 65-mile greenway from Kittery to South Portland.
More than 700 bicyclists from across the U.S. have registered for Saturday’s Maine Lighthouse Ride that kicks off from Southern Maine Community College in South Portland. Proceeds benefit the Eastern Trail Alliance.
Participants have their choice of riding 25, 40, 62 or 100 miles past lighthouses and beaches and along rocky coastline in southern Maine.
