NAPLES – Lucy Fowler’s goal 1:52 into the second overtime gave unbeaten Lake Region a 3-2 win over Cape Elizabeth in a Western Maine Conference field hockey game Friday.

Elizabeth Schreiber sent a perfect baseline cross to Fowler, who was planted at the stroke line.

The goal was Fowler’s second of the game. Tori Girardin also scored for Lake Region (6-0).

Hailey Petsinger and Abby McInerney each had a goal for the Capers (3-3).

Lake Region goalie Meghan Van Loan blocked four shots. Cape’s Julianne Ayers made two saves.

FRYEBURG ACADEMY 2, FALMOUTH 1: Skye Dole scored from Christina DiPietro with 16:51 left to give the Raiders (6-0) the edge at Falmouth (3-3).

Ellen Bacchiocchi put Fryeburg ahead with 19 seconds left in the first half. Jillian Rothweiler pulled the Yachtsmen even 5:13 into the second half.

Sage Antolin made five saves for Fryeburg; Hillary Nash made six stops for Falmouth.

NORTH YARMOUTH ACADEMY 4, WAYNFLETE 0: Elizabeth Coughlin made eight saves and the Panthers (5-1) scored four goals in the second half to beat the Flyers (2-3) at Portland.

Bailey Clock, Juliana Tardif, Olivia Madore and Maura Anderson provided the offense.

FREEPORT 7, GRAY-NEW GLOUCESTER 3: Sydney Ambrose set up Abby Smith 2:38 into the game, then scored an unassisted goal less than four minutes later, to start the Falcons (4-1) on their way to a victory over the Patriots (0-6) in Freeport.

Smith also assisted on one of Olivia Bubar’s two goals.

Sara Carder scored twice for the Patriots.

TRAIP ACADEMY 4, OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2: Kaylie Andrews scored two goals to lead the Rangers (3-3) over the Seagulls (0-6) at Old Orchard Beach.

Andrews also assisted on the Rangers’ first goal, scored by Briana Lamoureux. Sarah Noble provided the fourth goal.

Old Orchard got goals from Emilie Chard and Peyton Feitz. Colleen Dyer finished with 20 saves.

CHEVERUS 7, PORTLAND 1: Katie Roy scored twice in the first half before setting up Staci Swallow for the first of her three goals as visiting Cheverus (6-0) rolled to a win over the Bulldogs (0-6).

Anne Slattery scored off a corner with no time left for a 4-0 halftime lead. Alex Logan added a second-half goal.

Gabi Cardona scored for Portland, assisted by Leanne Reichert.

POLAND 1, SACOPEE VALLEY 1: Julia Vacchiano of Sacopee Valley (1-5-1) and Mimi Carmichael of Poland (1-3-1) traded first-half goals in a tie at South Hiram.

Melora Lavoie stopped 11 shots for Poland. Chloe Ronco made five saves for Sacopee Valley.

WINTHROP 5, BOOTHBAY 1: Emmah Spahr and Rachel Ingram each had two goals and an assist to lead the Ramblers (6-1) past the Seahawks (1-6) at Winthrop.

Shauna Carlson added a goal and an assist. Kelsey Stoneton also had an assist.

Meghan Oakes made 14 saves for Boothbay.

OAK HILL 3, HALL-DALE 1: Sadie Goulet scored two unassisted goals to lead the Raiders to the MVC win in Farmingdale.

Kylee Veilleux had the other goal for the Raiders (4-3). Abby Fuller made four saves.

Nicole Pelletier scored for Hall-Dale (1-5). Hannah Perry stopped seven shots.

GIRLS’ SOCCER

BRUNSWICK 7, CONY 2: Kassidy Scarponi and Anna Cowan each had three goals to lead the Dragons (6-0) over the Rams (3-3) at Brunswick.

Paige Tetu contributed a goal and two assists, and Julie Champagne helped out with two assists.

THORNTON ACADEMY 8, MCAULEY 0: Allie Coburn and Haley DeGraca scored two goals apiece to pace the Trojans (5-0) against the Lions (0-4) at Saco.

Katie Couture and Amanda Arnold added first-half goals to stake Thornton to a 3-0 lead. Alyssa Gilbert and Courtney O’Brien scored in the second half.

DEERING 5, NOBLE 0: Edie Palozzi scored twice and the Rams (4-1) shut out visiting Noble (1-4).

Alexis Elowitch scored Deering’s first goal, assisted by Chelsea Saucier. Saucier then gave the Rams a 2-0 lead with help from Elowitch.

Palozzi got both of her goals with assists from Brianna Walker for a 4-0 lead at halftime.

Meaghan Wells converted a penalty kick in the second half.

OLD ORCHARD BEACH 2, LAKE REGION 2: Sydney Hancock of Lake Region (1-1-1) and Abigail Dubois of Old Orchard (3-1-1) had two goals apiece in a tie at Naples.

Dubois scored twice in the first 28 minutes of the second half to give OOB a 2-1 lead, but Hancock tied it with seven minutes left.

Lexi Crawford had an assist for Lake Region. Anna Foss assisted on Dubois’ first goal.

RICHMOND 7, RANGELEY 0: Noell Acord scored four goals to lead the Bobcats (5-0) to a win at Rangeley (2-2).

BOYS’ SOCCER

BRUNSWICK 12, CONY 1: Konnor Scarponi had five goals and two assists to lead the Dragons (4-1-1) past the Rams (3-3) at Augusta.

Greg Walton and Adam Finick added two goals apiece, and Ryan Black had two assists.

GREATER PORTLAND CHRISTIAN 11, HIGHVIEW CHRISTIAN 1: Ethan Spaulding had four goals and four assists as the Lions (2-1) handled the Knights (0-1) at Woolwich.

Eric Pearson, Jeremiah Hammond and Eddie Daigneault each added a pair of goals, and Sam Whiting finished with a goal and an assist.

Gabe Philbrick scored for Highview.

VOLLEYBALL

FALMOUTH 3, CHEVERUS 0: Megan Tammaro recorded five kills, and Danielle Li and Callie McMahon combined for 28 service points and 11 aces as the Yachtsmen (3-2) defeated the visiting Stags, 25-16, 25-9, 25-14.

GORHAM 3, KENNEBUNK 0: Lindsay Chapman had seven kills, three aces and 10 service points to help Gorham (5-0) down visiting Kennebunk (1-3), 25-14, 25-22, 25-14.

Kaitlyn Seehusen added seven assists, five aces and 10 service points, and Kate Curley had four aces and eight service points.

Hannah Johnson had four kills for Kennebunk.

BIDDEFORD 3, MDI 0: Freshman Bailey Cook had 10 kills and five blocks and was 17 for 18 on serves with two aces as the Tigers (5-0) beat the visiting Trojans (4-2), 25-14, 25-21 and 25-9.

MDI was paced by Madeline Cook with eight kills and four aces.
