Win a Classic Shaker Dry Sink

The weekly farmers’ market at Connemara Farm in New Gloucester was bustling even more than usual on Tuesday, Sept. 11. The event launched a capital campaign to benefit the future New Gloucester Veterans’ Monument.

One of the fundraisers is the raffling off of classic Shaker Dry Sink handcrafted and donated by AMVETS member Bill King who underwrote the cost of materials. He modeled the design from a picture he spotted in a Yield House Furniture Catalog.

King is a Korean War veteran who served in the U.S. Navy in 1950 and 1951. His unit patrolled the shores of Korea where he and his fellow soldiers were under constant bombardment.

Raffle tickets are available through Dec. 15 for a cost of $1 each or six tickets for $5. They can be purchased at an AMVETS Post 6 public bean supper from 5 to 6 p.m. on the third Saturday of each month or by calling King at 926-5969.
