BATH — The Morse High School girls soccer team picked up its fifth consecutive Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference victory, rolling to an 8-0 victory over Mt. View on Thursday.

Miracle Trimble opened the scoring off a Paige Martin feed to get the scoring started for the 5-1-1 Shipbuilders, who host Gardiner on Saturday at 11 a.m.

Trimble (assisted by Brianna Williams), Williams (Sophie Sreden), Martin (Bess Howell), Martin (Alesha Aucoin) and Morgan Cram also scored in the opening 40 minutes for a 6-0 lead, and second half goals by Trimble (Sreden) and Ruth Nadeau closed out the scoring.

Morse goaltender Sadia Crosby had two saves. The Shipbuilders finished with a 28-2 shots advantage.

Boys soccer

BATH — The Hyde School boys varsity soccer team opened its home slate on Wednesday with a 7-3 victory over Kents Hill.

Ethan Morrow exploded for four goals in the win, two coming off direct kicks as the Phoenix pulled away after a close contest for 70 minutes.

Jamal Fraser Borden chipped in two goals, while Wondo Shaw added goal each. Kiefer Cundy, Nabil Eshraghian and Ethan Morrow earned an assist each, with goaltender Bill Martinez manning the Hyde net and turning away several Kents Hill opportunities.

MT. VIEW 1

Visiting Morse fell to (0-7) with a Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference loss at Thorndike on Thursday.

Lorenzo Milani scored the lone goal for Mt. View (5-2-1) with 18:34 left in the first half.

Duane Tardif turned aside eight shots in the loss, while Mt. View goaltender James Blanchette had four stops.

The Shipbuilders are slated to host Gardiner on Saturday at 1 p.m.
